Not too long ago as I was standing in the checkout line in one of our Italian market specialty shops I noticed they were selling Benton’s bacon. I mentioned to the clerk that it was my favorite and I had spoken with Allan, the owner, recently.
Allan told me they had been in a judged ham and bacon fair and the judge told him that his bacon had too much flavor. Three of the customers behind me bought some of Allan’s bacon.
